Review :
We all know that director Teja is his own man. He does things according to his conviction. But even by his own standards, Dhairyam is a courageous film. For, the film, a remake is of a failed movie. Avowedly a remake of the Tamil Sullan, Teja has his work as the original failed miserably.
But Teja says he knows what he is stepping to. He is not worried about what happened to Sullan. "My film is different," he says. It has to be. The story, however, is old. The hero, with a righteous indignant streak in him, is poor --- son of a conservancy worker. The heroine is rich and beautiful. The two fall in love. After overcoming the shenanigans of the villain, they join hands.
The script is what makes the film interesting, says the director. For the hero Nitin, who is a find of Teja, this is another important film in his career. Nitin was introduced by Teja in Jeyam. "I have happy memories of that first film. I love working with Teja. He has so much energy," Nitin says. Raima Sen, the heroine, is from Bengal --- the daughter of moon Moon Sen. As per pedigree, she should be glamorous and must act also.
Teja introduced Reema Sen in Chitram and she went on to be a big star. Now another Sen is being tried by him. It remains to be seen what fate befalls her.
The music of Anoop, a former assistant of R P Patnaik, for the film looks interesting. Anoop said that there were seven full songs and one bit song in this album.
On the whole, it is a typical film. But a lot depends on Teja's handling.
